Angry Birds Supper

If you are a great fan of the KE Float ‘ERIC’ and an avid player of the computer game, Angry Birds, you will totally fall in love with this “Angry Birds” supper organized by the AB Block Committee! With an adorable door tag specially created for this supper, it was hard for any AB blockers to miss out on the good food and fun. Needless to say, a large crowd turned up for the supper held on 11 August, filling the newly cleaned and decorated AB lounge to its maximum capacity.

For this supper, the AB block head and vice block head had created a special menu to fill the growling stomachs of the hungry blockers after their first official day of school. To ensure that sufficient food was prepared, the newly formed AB Block Committee was hard at work since 7pm. The AB Block Committee members had painstakingly peeled, cut, mashed and cooked the food ingredients to create a fabulous feast of the all time favorites of AB suppers! The supper started promptly at 10pm with many slippers scattered outside the AB lounge to attest to the large turn up. I managed to squeeze myself into the crowded room and was soon happily chatting with my fellow blockers. After an interesting speech by Prof Li, Resident Fellow of AB, on the art of balancing hall life and studies, the supper was ready to begin!

The all time favorite nuggets proved to the most popular item on the table, dwindling at a high rate 15 minutes into the supper. I managed to snatch a golden-brown piece, and boy, it was good! Other items, like pizza bread, pasta and mashed potatoes were too delicious and had me going back for seconds. After strategically positioning myself beside the chocolate fondue, I was happily meeting and conversing with the new AB blockers about their first day in school. The AB Block Committee members remained hard at work, interacting and convincing blockers to sign up for the upcoming Inter Block Games (IBG) next week. Some ex- blockers also came back for a short visit, and they too shared their experience living in AB.

As the night dragged on, the block supper soon came to an official end. The satisfied blockers returned happily to their rooms, high on chocolate and carbs. With such a great first supper, I wait in anticipation like all other fellow blockers, to be blown away by the next AB supper. Great job AB Block Comm!
