On Thursday, our squash girls fought a hard battle against a strong opponent - Temasek Hall. It was a marvelous game, although we lost in the end.

Compared with the prelims against Raffles Hall, the match lasted much longer. This could be guessed from the score board; for four out of five rounds, the outcome was decided in three sets rather than two, which means that both sides had been quite evenly-matched.

The play order was quite similar as the previous prelims had been. The only difference was that we fielded another two players, whose names are both Jiahui, replacing Jolene and Liujun.

I finally got a chance to see the extent of Carolyn’s squash ability since the last time her opponent was weak. As one of the best squash players in KE, Carolyn had shown us her skillful hits - sharp, speedy and fatal. Unluckily, the TH player was awesome as well, and her patience won her the match. On the other hand, it was the audience’s luck that we could watch such a wonderful, intense squash game.

Another person who impressed me a lot was Jiahui who was the second player representing KE. Most of us were moved by her never-give-up attitude. She threw herself into the game so hard and even fell twice while she was trying to hit the ball. What I want to say is that, no matter what the result was, we are proud of you, Jiahui!

The cheers from supporters were earth-shaking, partly because the game itself was intense. In a way, it was no longer just a match, it was also a great performance. KE Squash girls, you are the best forever!
