Calling all KEVIIans, and non-KEVIIans too!
To make our job of reporting a little more interactive, Pubs Comm would like you to send us your comments on the finals of XQRJ (Xin Qing Rong Ji), the nationwide Chinese songwriting competition, which took the form of a concert held on 27 Jan 2006. It received much praise for being a well-organised event, with high-quality songs that held the audience spellbound, humorous interludes as the judges took turns to give comments and constructive criticism on each song, and music videos which were… memorable, to say the least
The 10 songs which made it to finals - all of which received acclaim, whether in the form of a prize or simply in the hearts of the people who went to see it, were “Xin Zhong De Ri Ji” (The Diary In My Heart), “Ya Yi Ya”, “Yu Ye” (Rainy Night), “Fang Shou” (Letting Go), “I Do”, “Wei Xiao” (Smile), “Shen Jing Bing” (Crazy), “Zui Hou De Gao Bai” (The Last Goodbye), “Tu Ran Xiang Qi” (Suddenly I Remember), and “Deng Yi Ge Qi Ji” (Waiting For A Miracle). Well done to the songwriters and performers who were able to see their artistic creations realised on stage!
Send your comments - reviews of the songs, comments or feedback for the 9th XQRJ team - to ke7publications @ gmail.com (remove the spaces). We are eager to hear from you! You will receive no reward but the satisfaction of being able to air your views and perhaps see them in print in the hall newsletter, “Altitude”, or even in the yearbook. We hope to incorporate as many of your views as possible!
Whether it is to gush about the deep meaning in your favourite song, to give an artistic critique of the different songwriting techniques, to praise the XQRJ team for doing a great job this year, to comment on whether it was a right choice to screen the music videos, to provide translations or even give a non-Chinese-speaker’s point of view, we look forward to hearing from you!
Note: Pubs Comm also welcomes your views on other events in hall, including IHG and Hall Play. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. So are your tip-offs on other news in hall!
